Cinematography - Task 6

A TOUCH OF EVIL 1958 ‧ Mystery/Thriller

This scene causes tension simply by the slow motion effect added to the scene. One shot type that stands out is the over the shoulder shot, this is because it reinforces the tension and intensity of the scene. Whats interesting they used the over the shoulder shot on two subjects which allowed them to use the 180-degrees rule which was very effective. the main focus of the clip is to build pressure.  The use of close-ups also added to the intensity and strain of the scene as there isn't anthing the audience can identify with casting the sense of identification.

Conventionally, the editing and sound fits with the narrative and clip and this is reinforced in the scene. what was also effective was the use of diegetic sounds making the scene seem more realistic and adds to the realism.
